See What Your Competition Pays For Google Adwords

February 12th, 2009 · Comments

How would you like to see what keywords your competition is using in their adwords ads - real time?   I want to tell you about a free keyword research tool that marketing guru, Brad Callen, just created.

Basically, you install the software as a plugin to your FireFox browser and when you perform a Google search on any keyword.  It places a “view keywords” button directly below any Adwords advertiser’s listing.  If you click the “view keywords” button, you can see the keywords ANY Adwords advertiser is bidding on!  Plus, a bunch of other very cool stuff.

I’ve never seen anything anywhere near this powerful, especially for free. Make sure you visit my website right away, because I don’t know how long this application will be free.

Remember, you are only competing with the top 1 - 10 people on the first page of the Google - Not 4.7 million people, so you need to know what those 1 - 10 people are doing.  They are the only ones who count.

You cannot rely on page rank or the number of links into a site to determine the likelihood of a good position.  Keywords are so important and you just cannot tell which keywords your competition is bidding on.  So how are you going to get the information?  It is possible to look at a number of measures, but it would take so much time without this tool?

In my experience, Google doesn’t show you the correct page rank, and they certainly don’t show you the link backs accurately either.  Up until now, it was very difficult to try to reverse engineer what the competitors are doing.

With this free widget PPCWebSpy Click Here! added to your Firefox browser, you can click on the different adwords ads.  Almost instantly, you will get this popup that is brimming with information.

Here is what you will find out:

  • Keywords the competitor bids on
  • How much he paid
  • The position on the page
  • The average Cost Per Click
  • The Average Maximum Cost Per Click
  • The number of Clicks per Day
  • The total clicks per day
  • The total cost per day

Here’s an example of what you will see.

You can sort the columns just by clicking on the heading, too.

Don’t hesitate to get this incredible tool. It makes it so easy to spy on what your competition is doing to attain the positions they have. You can use this information to improve your search engine position…and it’s free.  Let me know what you think of it - good or bad.  If you love it, let’s hear it.  If you think it stinks, let’s hear it.

  • Really good to know.. thanks mate
  • I didn't realize that this tool was available as I was under the impression that all of the Google Adwords spy type tools were expensive or you had to have your own programmer to figure it out.

I use FF so it will be an easy tool to use and on my way to download it now.
