Odiogo’s media-shifting technology expands the reach of your content: It transforms news sites and blog posts into high fidelity, near human quality audio files ready to download and play anywhere, anytime, on any device.
I can’t tell you how excited I am about this Free service from Odiogo.com
I just installed it on one of my blogs, www.TrafficBumper.com. It was very easy to do. There was no coding
involved, at all. It took about five minutes to do.
When I first heard about this, I put off checking out the website, because I have so much to do. I misunderstood and I thought I would have to sit there and read every one of my articles into a computer recorder/editing program such as Audacity. Then, knowing how things go, I would have to edit and edit and retake until I got it acceptably right.)
NO! I didn’t have to do that. A human-like computer voice reads the article for the reader/listener. All you need to do is click on the “Listen” button at the top of each article. In addition, if the listener wants to download an MP3 file of the article, he just clicks on the MP3 button. Download to your IPod and listen as you drive to work.
Now I can turn readers into listeners. Instantly, my blog was transformed into a high quality, ad supporting broadcast that can vastly expand my audience reach.
- Automatic podcast generation
- “Near-human” quality text-to-speech
- Listen Button feature deployed in next to no time for WordPress, Blogger, TypePad, BlogEngine.NET and Terapad platforms
- Detailed download statistics
- Make money from embedded ads

It’s funny but I had also thought about adding voice to my website but I’m not familiar with coding or anything technical, so I stayed away from it.
Reading and listening to your post gives me the confidence to know that I can do it.
Thanks for explaining this for your readers.

Makes sense to me. When you think of the moments spent driving, busing, training, exercising etc. It’s much mire prodictive to be listening to content while you’re doing other things. A robot type voice eventually becomes normal after a small exposure anyway! The added feature of NOT needing coding skills makes it a must to try I think.

Seems like a really great idea and I did listen to your article while doing something else when I might have given up on reading it but I found the artificial voice irritating and impersonal - so I’m not sure how often I would click to listen.
However it is a choice so readers dont have to listen but can if they want to.
Im sure the voice technology will get better.
Wouldnt be bothered to download articles to listen later personally.

I would be interested in other people’s comments. Do you think the computer voice is annoying or tolerable?
Personally, I don’t have a problem with it, buy that is just one man’s opinion.
